The Cincinnati Bengals have ended the Germaine Pratt era.
NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reported the long-awaited news on Monday, with Pratt hitting free agency as a result.
Pratt reportedly requested a trade last February around the time the Bengals moved on from defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo and shifted to Al Golden.

In the wake of a youth movement with Golden’s arrival, the Bengals drafted Demetrius Knight in the second round and Barrett Carter in the fourth, plus added Oren Burks and Joe Giles-Harris in free agency to rebuild the unit around Logan Wilson.
The Bengals save roughly $5.8 million in cap space with Pratt’s release.
