Tom Brady roast aftermath: Gisele reportedly ‘disappointed’ at jokes, Jeff Ross says athlete ‘abided’ by ‘anything goes’ rules

Now that the dust has settled from Netflix’s wild Tom Brady roast, we’re learning a little more about how things went down on Sunday.

Comedians Nikki Glaser and Jeff Ross, who had some of the night’s most-talked about moments, weighed in on whether any topic was truly off-limits and how Brady handled the (at times, brutal) three-hour event.

Apparently, only one person was unhappy with the raunchy material and that’s Brady’s ex-wife, Gisele Bündchen.

The comedian, who received the night’s first standing ovation, appeared on SiriusXM’s The Howard Stern Show and said she left some jokes out of her set.

“I think we all collectively just decided not to involve his kids too much in anything because they didn’t ask for that,” she told Stern on May 6. “So, I couldn’t say, ‘Tom, hopefully we make out at the after-party — you can pretend I’m your son.'” (Glaser is making a reference to the photo of Brady kissing son Jack on the lips.)

“We all just agreed, ‘Let’s not throw the kids under the bus,'” she added.

Brady shares Jack, 16, with ex-girlfriend, Bridget Moynahan, and two kids — Benjamin, 14, and Vivian, 11, — with ex-wife Bündchen. The kids were mostly left out of the roast, but there were jokes about the athlete leaving Moynahan and getting left by Bündchen.

Glaser also revealed she believes that awkward moment between Ross and Brady “was for real.”

When Ross, the roastmaster general, was at the podium, he made a massage joke about Robert Kraft, the owner of the New England Patriots and who was in the audience. His attendance was something Glaser said they weren’t aware of prior to the show.

“Based on the little knowledge I have of [the event], I think Robert Kraft was not a confirmed guest to be there,” she told Stern. “I didn’t know he was going to be there until I was there, and I knew everyone else.”

After Ross made the massage joke, it looked like he was about to go even further, prompting Brady to get out of his seat. The seven-time Super Bowl champion told Ross, “Never say that shit again.”

“I was surprised when Jeff made that joke, but I do think that Tom actually was looking out for him,” Glaser explained. She revealed that after Ross was done, the comedian seemed “a little bit worried” he may have crossed the line.

“We have consciences about these things, you know? Afterwards we go, ‘Did that really hurt his feelings?'” Glaser said. “I’m sure it’s not an issue Jeff is gonna hear about today or anything like that.”

Ross joined The Rich Eisen Show on May 6 and said there are no hard feelings with Brady or Kraft.

“Robert Kraft is like a father figure to him,” Ross explained of Brady. “He was just showing his love for Robert Kraft. And Robert Kraft loved it. We had a great talk afterward. He was so happy that I gave him a shout-out and a salute. It was beautiful.”

Ross confirmed that Brady didn’t know any jokes ahead of time that would be said.

“I kept him in the dark on a lot of the surprises, and he didn’t hear anybody’s jokes,” he said.

“[Tom] abided by the rules of the roast, which is basically anything goes and surprise me. I’ve got to give the guy credit,” Ross added. “He really did it.”

Brady’s wife of more than a decade was not laughing at the many, many jokes at her expense. The former quarterback was roasted over her reported relationship with their children’s jujitsu teacher, Joaquim Valente, and supposedly choosing football over his family when he unretired.

A source told People that the supermodel was “deeply disappointed by the disrespectful portrayal of her family on Sunday evening’s roast show.”

The insider added, “As always, [Bündchen’s] priority is to support her children who were affected by the irresponsible content that was broadcasted.”

Yahoo Entertainment reached out to a representative for Bündchen but did not immediately receive a response.

Brady’s former teammate revealed it was his wife who came up with one of the blows about Bündchen, but it was softer than what he initially had.

“I’m going to get in really, really big trouble for this, but I’m willing to wear it, the Gisele joke, that actually came from my wife. Don’t tell her I told you,” Bledsoe said on Monday’s The Dan Le Batard Show with Stugotz.

On Sunday, Bledsoe told Brady: “You know, obviously buddy, you got really used to not be touched, right, just like the end of the marriage.”

“The truth is, it was a replacement for a joke that I had written that was far worse and she said, ‘No, you can’t do that one,'” he revealed on Monday. “And so she helped me write something that was a little bit more of a softball.”

Bledsoe also confirmed the moment between Ross and Brady “was not scripted.”

“That was Tom actually genuinely coming to his defense,” he said.

Bledsoe revealed he told Brady that he wouldn’t do any Kraft jokes and would leave the kids out of it. “Other than that, everything was fair game.”
